WHY DO WE BELIEVE IN YOUTH INITIATIVES?
In today’s fast-paced world, where new technology seems to develop overnight, our children’s well-being is of paramount importance. A solid foundation in the early years enables our children to develop their God-given talents and a sound moral foundation; helping them to acquire an education and mature into citizens with integrity is desperately needed in our world today.
OUR VISION
State Alert’s vision is to become the leading local boxing promoter for amateur boxing venues, while establishing a network of businesses that support both the events and generate revenue that fund our community centers—to be referred to as “villages.” Creating community centers that provide sporting and enrichment activities for youth in disadvantaged areas of the country and go beyond what existing community centers already provide is a priority. State Alert will help create community leaders and confident youth who are prepared to tackle future challenges they will face.
WHO DO WE SERVE?
The community that State Alert Learning serves is considered to be 100% at risk. The median income for the community is lower than the median for Flagler and St. John’s County and the State of Florida as a whole, while the unemployment level in the community (8.8%) is higher than that of the State of Florida (6.2%) which is higher than the level of the country at 6.2%. Our long term goal is to duplicate our efforts all across the nation; making a difference one child at a time.
OUR OBJECTIVE
The State Alert Learning objective is to help people – primarily children and their families – help themselves become independent and productive members of the Flagler and St. John’s County society. The founder of State Alert, Raymond (Alex) Pinnix has always had a personal goal of being able to help young people achieve social confidence and meet their educational objectives. He has been to the school of hard knocks, and as a result Alex has now committed his life to helping youth who are unable to help themselves. He aspires to be a voice for the voiceless!
State Alert Entertainment is dedicated to providing all youth of the community opportunities that instill sportsmanship, fair play, physical conditioning, mental, spiritual and emotional strength through boxing and other programs. This will be achieved by providing programs in our villages.
We will develop strategies geared toward the following:
- Juvenile Court Systems
- School Systems
- Church Youth Programs
We will create strategic partnerships similar to the one that has been initiated with the Y.E.S. program, and through these collaborations we will launch a series of activities and fund the expanding programs.
The following programs will be available to youth participants:
- Math, Reading tutoring
- Arts and Craft Classes
- Automotive Class
- Music Enrichment Classes
- Movie/Play Book
We will eventually provide a Boot Camp for troubled children. Programs in the boot camp will emphasize discipline and physical conditioning. Boxing, for example, will be used as a rigorous alternative to fighting.
These are just a few classes that we will provide at State Alert Learning Villages.
In addition to these programs State Alert Learning will also provides programs for other county children. The program will also consist of after school programs which offer the children an opportunity for social development, supervised homework assistance, tutorial services and the organized sports, which they may not otherwise be able to obtain. We could not do this without the help of our community.
